Back to Penland
On stand-by: I got a surprise phone call from Penland today, offering me a place in the workshop, Melissa Wagner-Lawler—Boxes, Slipcases, & Clamshells., I forgot that I had applied for stand-by.
So I’ll be back at Penland at the end of May - back to living in the camper van at the nearby campground, back to the beautiful book arts studio, back to morning-to-night studio work.
I look forward to this, having had a great experience at Penland last year.

New Product: Solar Lanterns
Made of book board and book cloth, the 11-inch tall lanterns use a rechargeable Luci solar light, housed in a box with four mica inserts to showcase light as it shines through. Removable lids make it easy to take out the light for recharging in sunlight. Luci lights last for decades. With no electricity needed, you can place these lanterns anywhere indoors or on a covered porch. Think of them as sustainable gifts to the environment.

Box Making, Create a Clamshell Box
Join us for Box Making, Create a Clamshell Box, at the S.E. Center for Photography, Greenville, SC. In this one-day, hands-on workshop on October 20th you will make a handmade portfolio to take home.
Beautiful prints should to be presented in a beautiful way. A handmade portfolio box gives prints a place to be stored. They are ready to be seen, one by one. Or taken out and spread across a table. The prints are nestled in a unique case and protected. Simple portfolio boxes are not hard to make, and they enhance a collection of work.
